Beginning the hunt for a new dvd player for the lounge room in the near future. Although i'm only after a standard device, i'm probably going to have to invest in one that contains extra bells and whistles (ie: another blu-ray capable player, or my third dvd-hdd recorder) in order to get the size i want.

As i'm trying to avoid having to put up with another slimline device (i've tried to migrate from large to small electrical equipment in the past, and it's only ended with the device not lasting as long as a standard one).

My previous Sony dvd player lasted 4+ years with frequent use. The current Sony (basically the '07/'08 design of the 2004 model, but in a slim design) stopped working after 9 months of occasional (weekend) use.

Was pretty good. Didn't like it as much as I'd hoped.

I didn't fully understand this at first but after reading about it on Wiki it all makes sense and makes it better.

F*cking tops, it's got cameos from younger versions of characters of the previous films. There's one cameo that i marked out for. Cheesy

I'll still be seeing it at the movies.

Surprised there isn't a crappy Hollywood remake yet. I know there's been talks though.

I think Jackman will be cool with it if I tell him on Twitter that I loved it and still plan on buying to see it.  Cheesy

King of Kong - a fist full of quarters  Grin

Last Watched:

Last Found:
X-Men trilogy

Been looking for the movies for awhile, thought i had lost / or someone had borrowed and not returned them. I was on the verge of assuming i'd have to chase them up, or buy new copies to replace them. But alas, i looked a little harder and found them on the bottom of another pile  Cheesy

Surprising since as far as i know had practically the same crew (minus the director) and some cast.

(Oldboy)

The person who recommended this to me said it had one of the biggest twists he's ever seen. Even though i knew that beforehand i didn't pick up on the twist until it happened.

I was expecting more action scenes to be honest. I still liked it though.

I just read on Wiki that there's a U.S remake (of course) happening involving Will Smith and Speilberg. Those two, while talented in their own rights, are not the best picks, of even good picks for this kind of movie in my opinion. I'm not expecting it to be that good.

Oh I loved it.  Just that sense of regret is something that really strike a chord with me.  He really wanted to hang onto her in the end. It was beautiful.

Same as my favourite film, The Fountain. So tragic and beautiful.

My last few films have been quite good.

Mike and Hank.
Funny and poignant. I loved how they seemed to disregard the fact that they were in pink bunny suits, like it was the most natural thing in the world.

------------

Dying Breed
I've been a fan of Leigh Whannel's since his days on Recovery where he was a movie fan geek. Now, he's possibly one of the best things to come out of the Aussie movie scene.  This didn't disappoint.

-----

Balls Out.
I'm loving Sean William Scott lately, and this is one of his funnier flicks.

Grin Its one of those films that really totally hits you in every sense of the way, fan-F*ckin-tastic film where the ending hits you like a tonne of bricks and leaves you thinking very much about it, love it Smiley
