Alright the Rumble is only two and a bit weeks away, time to get some discussion up and going. There is another thread discussing who might win the Rumble match, but it's old and doesn't cover the whole show. The card so far looks like this: Christian (c) vs. Ezekiel Jackson - ECW Championship The Undertaker (c) vs. TBD - World Heavyweight Championship Sheamus (c) vs. Randy Orton - WWE Championship 30-Man Royal Rumble MatchConfirmed Participants: -Mark Henry -Evan Bourne -Ted DiBiase -Cody Rhodes I haven't read Smackdown Spoilers so I don't know who's scheduled to face The Undertaker for the title, but I'm hoping this is leading to a Triple Threat Match between them for the title at Royal Rumble. I have no interest in seeing Rey challenge for the title one on one and Batista/Taker has been done to death too many times. As for the WWE Championship match, I can't se Sheamus losing clean to Orton here, the match-up just doesn't make sense right now and It's just an excuse to allow Cena into the Rumble match. By the way, wasn't he supposed to be undefeated until he won the title? So much for that... ECW... I don't envy Christian's position for having to carry Ezekiel here. Don't get me wrong, I quite like the guy, but he's no in-ring technician. Christian to pick up the win, though I wouldn't mind if Jackson won the title for something different. As long as it all results in Christian winning MITB I have no problem with whether he's ECW champ or not going into the match. And now the Rumble match itself... Cena to win and remain undefeated, facing Undertaker for the title and putting both winning streaks on the line. Shawn Michaels to win to face Taker for the title to redeem himself from last year & attempt to win the title for the first time in 6.5 years. Orton to win and put us to sleep during a main event again. Kofi to win and continue WWE's recent trend of pushing the new guys, facing Orton for the belt. Batista to win and continue his rampage, facing Undertaker for the title, possibly with Rey added for a triple threat. Jericho to win so he has a loophole to get back on to RAW. Edge to return and win, costing Jericho his shot and facing Orton, Batista or maybe even Jericho (if he wins title at Elim Chamber). Rey Mysterio to win and challenge Batista for title. CM Punk to win... just because. Drew McIntyre to win... see a combination of Kofi Kingston and CM Punk, plus he's got the HHH endorsement. DiBiase to win and challenge Orton in a teacher v. student scenario. For the first time in a long time, there's no overly predictable winner going into the match, not even a top 3. So who are your predicitions for these matches and what other matches can you see being added?

Don't see Edge returning in a wrestling role. May return for a run in to cost jericho RR match to set up WM match.
Other matches I see being added. IC title Miz v MVP and thats it really. 4 matches @ 20mins each = 1hr 20mins add 20mins worth of promos and then rumble match = 2hrs 40mins. Still 20mins I know but when does a ppv ever really use the full 3hrs.
Hope Not's (winning rumble) = HHH, HBK, Batista (if in it and not WHC), Rey (see Batista), Cena, Kofi or Drew.
Hope So's = Jericho, Dibiase, Punk or Christian after losing ECW title and placing himself in RR. Just someone that hasn't won it and can make a good storyline with champion into mania.
Orton to win (even though I don't see it happening) Christian to lose and move on and ready for bigger and better things (move brands, tag with edge, win wwe or whc title) HBK to "make it happen" by costing taker title.

I wasn't interested in getting it this year but it appears some of my friends are up for a bit of a PPV-Party and the Rumble is always good fun so looks like I'll be spending the dosh.
Agreed, its quite unpredictable this year, opposite of last years Orton-fest eh. I agree with Punk or more-so Jericho to win but I can't see either happening really, especially Punker.
SO, the word is Cena to win for the second time (which will put him up there with other multi-time Rumble victors. Yay, woot and so forth) and go on to have Cena-Orton for the 20th time (as WWE thinks it is THE rivalry) in what could be some kinda big finale match, but they've already covered all gimmick matches on the planet and the Dubya HAS to see Cena-Orton has run its course. Plus Cena has apparent disk bulging issues so his entire deal is up in the air. He was meant to go on to face Sheamus in the first place.
So, as said, its unpredictable which will make it fun if the eventual winner is someone we want, and leave a Sh*te taste in our mouth if its Cena or Trips or Primo etc.

I like how it' unpredictable....until a week beforehand or just before the match, where they will make an obvious hint, like someone doing a promo about how they're going to win when others don't get that treatment.
This is why I miss the old-school 'everybody has a promo' thing they used to have with the rumble.

Yeah there's a fair share of contenders around this year. The rumour I've heard is HBK and Hunter will be the last two which I am NOT happy about at all.
WWE needs some serious shaking up at the moment. This is their opportunity. Hopefully it's Punk or Jericho and they keep Cena, Hunter, Orton down the card this year. I highly doubt it though.

Don't like the sound of that rumour..
The mark-ier part of the audience would be all pumped to see DX face off but still.

Cuck Fena. He doesn't need to win Sh*t like this to get title shots. Give it to someone to help elevate them and become a contender for the year to come.

I think Smackdown all but confirmed Batista's winning it again, and then facing, well, probably Cena when he wins the title inevitably. Or HHH or Orton for the millionth time. Or Rey to finish the feud.

i heard that rumor to HHH & HBK should be the first 2 Get screwed over neer the end Neither guy needs to win again Nor does anyone want to see them win HHH should win the E/Chamber & go to Mania that way HBK is facing Taker so he doesnt need it either JERICHO WINS so he back on RAW

I believe the current plan for Punk is a hair vs mask match with Rey at WM

Why? Since when would that make sense, if Punk's doing the shaving, and Rey's bald? Meh, I'm sure they'll explain it if it were to happen.

Punk loses Jesus/ Messiah hair and beard, Rey loses mask, nothing to do with Rey being shaved at all.

That's right. As for the Rumble, I'd be happy with Jericho or Punk winning. No DX or Cena.

No, what I mean is that Punk's recent 'thing' is to shave people, so why would he want a mask instead? Either way doubt it will happen, I'm predicting a Rey Mysterio title win. ...unless Punk wins the rumble...

I think Punks excuse with Reys mask could be that he thinks Mysterio is ashamed to show his face and has to wear a mask to hide his past or something like that, i'm sure they'll think of some excuse for that.... As for the rumble i dont want Shawn to win only because i was Stone Cold to be the only 3 time winner, i'm going with Triple H (again like in 2008)

That poster is ridiculous if it's real. Talk about a complete cip-off of Sweeney Todd right there.

I'm not sure, but I've seen that 'poster' before and I'm fairly sure it's fake. And why would it be for backlash, when it's now called Elimination Chamber and we've seen that poster already as it has Batista on it?
Besides, why would they go to the trouble of doing a photoshoot for a poster spoiler?

I'm not sure, but I've seen that 'poster' before and I'm fairly sure it's fake. Backlash is still Backlash, it's No Way Out that has been changed to Elimination Chamber
